Flagler County Trump Club General Meeting Minutes June 15, 2020 TIME: 6:38 p.m.
Board Members: In attendance: Mimi Kowalsky, President; Mike McElroy, Vice- President; Janet Clerke, Treasurer; Beverly Danko, Secretary; Joe Kubasky, Sales Chair; Ed Danko, Media Chair; Jim Greene, Web Master; Bert Cordwell, Events Chair; Shannon Rambow, Membership Assistant. ABSENT: Loretta Soulli, Office Manager; Kathy Kohn, Membership Chair. Prayer: Led by Maureen Kubasky Pledge of Allegiance: Recited by all in attendance. Mimi started the meeting and reminded all in attendance to wear masks and stay six feet apart in accordance with VFW rules and regulations. She stated the importance for all of us to get out and work for President Trump’s reelection. Secretary’s Report: Beverly Danko submitted the minutes of the 02/17/2020 meeting which have been posted on the website. Mike McElroy made a motion to approve, the motion was seconded by Ed Danko and after no discussion, the minutes were unanimously approved. Treasurer’s Report: Janet Clerke reported that the bank account balance at the March 7, 2020 board member meeting was $15,432.30 and the balance as of June 15, 2020 in the account is $16,170.40. Membership Report: Shannon Rambow reported in Kathy Kohn’s absence that the total paid membership to date is 192 and there are 195 members. Jim Greene reported that 60 attendees checked in this evening for the membership meeting. Sales Chair: Joe Kubasky. Reported that the inventory is fully stocked. There are four different shirt styles available: navy, white ladies, red sport shirt Trump 45, and red club shirts. The first lot of 100 signs has been sold and the price has been lowered to $10. There are also red MEGA hats, Trump earrings, bracelets, gold coins and 2020 bills available. Trump flags are available for a $20 donation. There are also pens, buttons, bumper stickers and small flags for the price of a donation. Stop by the office for all merchandise. He reminded everyone that the club continually requires funds for all we are planning. Web Master: Jim Greene. Reported 80 visitors to the website in last three weeks. Some have also signed up for the website.
Events Chair: Bert Cordwell. Reported that the July event has been cancelled. He suggested a picnic in the fall. Stated there was a 1,550 boat parade recently in Jacksonville (there were 1,550 boats in the parade as one person counted them from a bridge per Mark Kaye WOKV radio) sponsored by the St. John County Trump Club. He suggested a boat parade might be of interest for our Trump Club too. One attendee also suggested a car rally through Palm Coast for which she could provide flags. Bert will look into options and will coordinate and communicate further. Media Chair: Ed Danko. Ed announced that he has secured a contract with Clear Channel for two huge billboards, one entering Flagler County going North and one entering Flagler County going South on 1-95 for the month of October up until the November 3 election. The billboards will say “Welcome to Flagler County – Trump Country” and then “Paid for by The Flagler Trump Club.” Total cost $4,340.00. Ed then announced that there were several candidates in the room: Alan Lowe, Kim Carney and Dennis McDonald. Ed encouraged attendees to speak to the candidates after the meeting. Another candidates in the room were William Gordon, who is running for Republican State Committeeman and Ed Danko who is running for Palm Coast City Council. Office Manager: Mimi reported in Loretta Soulli’s absence that the office is presently open on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The club has lots of Trump merchandise available for a donation at the office, including yard signs and shirts, so please visit. Attendees who want to volunteer at the office may sign-up on the sheet being made available at the tonight’s meeting. Old Business: Last Saturday’s (June 13, 2020) rally was cancelled due to rain. New Business: Mimi reported that a vote would be required by the paid members to approve the spending of funds for the billboards previously announced by Ed Danko. Nikki White then made a motion to approve the spending of funds for the billboards. The motion was seconded by both Mike McElroy and Bert Cordwell and after no further discussion; the motion was unanimously approved by the paid members in attendance by a show of hands. Mimi reported that she is working on obtaining tickets for the upcoming Republican National Convention in Jacksonville. Next Rally: Saturday, June 19, 2020. Meet at the Flagler County Trump Club office parking lot at 9:30 a.m. to get your signs and flags. The rally is being held at Boulder Rock and Palm Coast Parkway starting at 10 a.m. Reminder: Bring a guest to the next meeting. Next General Meeting: July 20, 2020, 6:30 p.m., at the VFW, Palm Coast, Fl.
